Sometimes I read the session agenda wrong, and sometimes I just get unlucky. I came to this presentation hoping to find out something about OS/2 on Novell networks. I had been having problems at the time trying to get my office computer on the local area network, and thought I could pick up a few pointers here.
Laura Jeanne Knapp (IBM LAN Systems in Raleigh) came to talk about something completely different, however. She talked about mixing and matching different kinds of networks together. For example: how to arrange your network drivers so that Novell Netware can coexist with IBM NetBIOS... that sort of thing. It was marginally interesting to me, but didn't have a lot of practical value.
I cornered her after the session to ask about my specific problems with OS/2, Novell and Arcnet. She wasn't any help whatsoever, but after I got home I discovered that my Arcnet port address was improperly set. Nevermind!
