John Ehrman (IBM) talked at length about the new assembler that IBM offers, and which borrows an awful lot of code and ideas from Greg Mushial's SLAC assembler that Bill Winters (and Sandi Mozdzierz!) worked on in the last couple of years that Bill worked at Duda. I already knew all this stuff, and there wasn't much reason for me to attend, except that I was the session chairman.
It WAS well attended. I counted 85 people seated in the room (we were at capacity), and John reported that he lost all 100 handouts that he brought. The session evaluations were VERY complimentary, so John must have done something right.
